Why You Need a Long Satin Nightgown in Your Life

Why You Need a Long Satin Nightgown in Your Life

I grew up having sleepovers at my Grandma’s house relatively often. At the time, I was only exposed to adult pajamas as being athleisure, like leggings or sweatpants. Instead of dressing like this to bed, my Grandma always wore a beautiful full-length nightgown, paired with a matching bathrobe. If you came to her house late at night, or if there were ever an emergency and had to call 911, she looked presentable and classy – even though she was in her pajamas!

Later on, when I recently wore out my own pajamas, I decided to replace them with something more elegant, like what my Grandma wore.

This nightgown I purchased to wear in the winter. It is very long and the fabric is soft, so even when it is below zero outside, it still keeps things cozy. I love the delicate floral pattern too.
In the summer, I’m planning on purchasing this short sleeve one that is a little shorter in length as well. It doesn’t get very hot in Minnesota, but I’m sure the one I wear in the winter will be too warm.

This is the first nightgown I purchased, it is soo pretty. If you live in a family, as I do, you have to wear it with the robe because the under-nightgown is too see-through to wear by itself. I love the lace and feminine details so much though.

After wearing the nightgown as opposed to regular pajamas for a while I noticed that it changed the way I thought about bedtime. When you dress up to go to bed, there is some sort of ritual, if you will, about it – it is easier to take bedtime more seriously and be more intentional about when you go to bed and when you wake up.

It is a personal style preference whether you decide to wear a nightgown or not, but if you are looking for a way to elevate your morning and evening routine, I would highly recommend wearing fancy pajamas :)
